I’m surprised the appliance guys even bothered to lower them off the truck. most would have driven away.

Hopefully they don’t drop and damage them.

I guarantee the neighbor didn’t tip them at all.

I delivered food in a college town when we bragged about “free delivery” — most people honestly believed that meant they weren’t expected to tip. They were too young to remember that places used to charge a delivery fee. I was make $5/hr and paying my own gas.
Wait, most places do charge for delivery now. Again. History repeats.

Ugh, that’s the worst. I delivered for Jimmy Johns in college. While tips usually weren’t good, most people did tip and the volume was high enough that it was a good paying college gig.
They were very smart about how they did a delivery charge. They didn’t charge a fee itself, but every item was something like 25 or 50 cents more if you ordered for delivery. Drivers got to keep 5% or the sales, to give us an incentive us to push people to add more items to their tab.
I don’t have much good to say about that guy (his personal office was next door to our location), but I did think that I was well paid while I was there.
